We are happy to announce that Jump Start will be running its 22nd session in fall 2017.
Jump Start is a 12 week, full time, subsidized (free to participants) fellowship for individuals interested in working in the community mental health field. The fellowship is open to anyone with at least 24 college units (any courses) and who demonstrate proficiency in writing and speaking in English. Candidates who meet the qualifications and have one or more of the following will be given preference: Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in any discipline, individuals who have lived experience and/or family members and individuals from un-served and/or underserved ethnic minority populations. Participants will be trained in the classroom and gain firsthand experience during an assigned internship. Upon graduation, Fellows receive a certificate as a Mental Health Rehabilitation Specialist. It is a great program for people who need the experience to get their foot in the door.
If you know anyone who may be interested in the program or could benefit from it, please feel free to share the information. If you or anyone you may recommend have any questions, contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org or call us at (562) 285 – 1330 ext. 1052.
